WUKA scores 111.4 on the B Impact Assessment, where the minimum for B Corp certification is 80. Our core products - period proof underwear and swimwear - are designed to be reused rather than thrown away, and our multi-size pants are designed to fit more bodies per pair. Seven WUKA styles have a certified product carbon footprint, independently assessed by Carbon Footprint Ltd. We fully vet and visit all our major suppliers and will only approve a BSCI audited company scoring Grade C or above, offer a living wage and wider benefits to all of our team. Our social impact has broadened beyond campaigning and winning the removal of VAT on period pants, to sponsoring thousands of UK girls in sport and a wide range of charities and period health organisations.
“Certified B Corporation” is a trademark licensed by B Lab, a private non-profit organisation, to companies like ours that have successfully completed the B Impact Assessment (“BIA”) and therefore meet the requirements set by B Lab for social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency.
It is specified that B Lab is not a conformity assessment body as defined by Regulation (EU) No 765/2008, nor is it a national, European, or international standardisation body as per Regulation (EU) No 1025/2012. The criteria of the BIA are distinct and independent from the harmonized standards resulting from ISO norms or other standardisation bodies, and they are not ratified by national or European public institutions.
