#AlwaysWukaNeverDiscreet

Why We Launched Reusable Incontinence Pants

You know us. We like to smash taboos and break down the stigmas that surround women’s health and menstruation- and we feel just as passionately about incontinence too.

Bladder problems are more common than hay fever in the UK- with 14 million people affected, and women experiencing leakage twice as much as men. Safe to say incontinence is not a minor issue. And yet, we still don’t want to talk about it.

We see incontinence products on the shelves using words such as ‘discreet’, implying we shouldn’t talk about it.

But language like this does nothing more than help to perpetuate the stigmas that surround incontinence. We see incontinence as taboo, and because of that, women feel ashamed and are less likely to seek medical help. In fact, 96% of women with urinary incontinence do not speak to doctor about it at all. The truth is, incontinence can have a devastating emotional impact, negatively impacting quality of life, irrespective of age.

We’re known for our no-holds barred approach to tackling stigmas. WUKA stands for Wake Up Kick Ass. We’re about speaking up and challenging the status quo. We’ve never been discreet when it comes to women’s health- we speak the bloody truth, and in doing so we’ve helped millions of women and girls manage their period. And now we’re turning to another ‘secret’ that’s been hidden beneath shrouds of shame for far too long. 1 in 3 women is more than just a little bit of wee. It’s an issue that could affect any one of us, and we need to speak up about it now.

That’s why we’re coinciding our launch with a new taboo-busting campaign, called #AlwaysWUKANeverDiscreet. We’re calling upon incumbent brands to remove words like ‘discreet’ from their packaging and advertising. We want women to be informed, to feel empowered, and to seek the help they might need without shame or embarrassment. And that starts right here, with us.

Please sign and share our petition, and help us to make the changes we desperately need to see.

FAQ

How do DryTech pants work?

The innovative aquaphobic outer material creates an impenetrable barrier, effectively locking out leaks even during moments of exertion. The inner built-in gusset, renowned for its high absorption capacity, instantly captures and contains moisture, ensuring it remains securely locked away.

How much liquid do they hold?

The incontinence pants are designed to absorb urine which is a different consistency to period blood. Our pants absorb 50ml worth of urine which is the equivalent of 8 teaspoons or 4-5 single use incontinence pads.

Will they smell?

We know that worry of smells is a key concern for those with incontinence which is why our underwear has been made with Polygiene OdorCrunch™ - a fast acting technology that instantly removes odors.

How Do I wash them?

Taking care of our undies is easy- simply pop the pants into our WUKA laundry mesh bag and wash on a 40 degree wash. Do not tumble dry or iron to ensure the integrity of the absorbent gusset remains intact.

Who can wear WUKA Drytech™ pants?

Our new Drytech™ pants are for anyone who experiences light leaks due to stress incontinence or urge incontinence, no matter what stage of life they're in.
