Period blood is nothing like the blood that comes out of any other part of the body and therefore menstrual blood has a distinct smell that may catch your attention. Although you can probably detect it and worry that your periods smell bad, it is usually nothing to worry about as period smell is something that all women, without exception experience.

After months of our collective campaigning to recognise reusable period pants as a menstrual product and be taxed at 0% from January along with disposable tampons and pads, we have had a response to our petition from the government. It’s not good news. We’ve had our cup of morning coffee and are ready to kick ass.

The concept of throwing things “away”, is false. Used pads and tampons pollute the oceans, beaches and rot in landfills. It takes around 500 - 800 years* for single-use plastic period products to break down and on average a person with periods will use about 11,000 disposable tampons and pads in their lifetime.

Not so long ago, we sent out a survey to men and dads to find what their knowledge on periods was. The results are now here.

The online survey had a series of questions and we managed to get responses from 389 men where almost everyone was aware of what a period is. But what was a little shocking is that more than 1 in 3 men did not know what period poverty is. Read more here.
