Every Day is International Women's Day for WUKA

Yes, we said it  every day.

On 8th March every year, the world comes together to celebrate International Women’s Day (IWD), a global day to recognise, celebrate and uphold our commitment to gender equality. It’s a day to focus our attention on women’s rights. It’s a day to call out gender bias and stereotypes, and to remind ourselves to do this every day. This year’s IWD theme is #BreakTheBias. At WUKA, we want periods to be part of the conversation as something to be proud of. After all, they are a normal part of life.

For WUKA, every day is IWD. How, we hear you ask? Well, read on.

FEMALE EMPOWERMENT IS AT OUR CORE 🙌

CEO and founder of WUKA Ruby Raut’s own experiences of period stigma in her girlhood inspired her to found WUKA as a female-led start-up. At the very foundation of WUKA is the determination to smash body and period taboos, break the bias if you will.

Alongside 11 other incredible women, Ruby featured in Pebble's '12 Inspirational Female Founders Who Are Helping To Save The World'. What a way to celebrate IWD 2022!

WE CAN TACKLE ANYTHING 💪

Period poverty is often defined as ‘being unable to afford female sanitary products’. It also means lack of information as to how to manage periods in a healthy way.

Some people report that they cannot afford to change their products as frequently as they would like, leading to hygiene and health implications. With WUKA products, you can wear, wash and reuse, and completely replace tampons and pads.

At WUKA, we are proud to work with schools, universities, councils and communities as part of their period dignity programmes. From International Women's Day 2022, WUKA is proud to be the official sponsor of Wales Women, the Welsh National Rugby Team.
